The old house was about 100 years old, although the architecture was interesting, the high ceilings made the rooms seem very large and empty.   This has just sorta happened over a period of a few years.

The Foyer.
The ceilings were 12ft . There was a little transom window over the front door.
The ivy wrapped around the room about 8ft up, with butterflies and hummingbirds mixed in there. The walls were painted to look like 12" blocks.

The Foyer led into a narrow hallway (5 x 5)  with a door on each side,  before reaching the kitchen. Too small to put any furniture in.  So now there are plants!  And a bit of faux brick peaking through the faux stucco walls.  I had always intended to paint a skylight on the ceiling to let in more light...

The living room walls were ragged in taupe and white with gold veins.

..
This was the ugliest beige ceramic lamp  (yard sale for $2).
Its gold squares sponged on cream paint, then cracked and antiqued.  I wanted a tassle, but they cost $15.  So I painted one.

This was the funkiest old porcelain bathtub you've ever seen. I painted the walls with acrylics then sealed with polyurathane. There are faux plants, bottles and candles.
Also added a fake stained glass window, so I don't have to wash curtains and painted some squares on the wall to make it look like tiled walls.

I just love the look of hand painted tiles in the kitchen! This is painted on the drywall beside the stove.
Next is behind the sink, faux small tiles.  I sealed it with polyurathane so it could be wiped off.  And my dish soap bottle got treated too.

The curtains are wild grapevines that grew on my fence with ivy and muslin.

The kitchen walls were also ragged in taupe and white. The baker's rack held my antique mix and match dishes.

I stamped tea cups and spoons directly on the painted table top.

Long live acrylic paint and polyurethane!!!
