Hello and welcome to our Moon Hollow Farm.
Wondering about the name?
The house sits into a hillside above a hollow filled with old hickory
and oak trees.
The moon sits just above the trees in the star filled sky.
We started the house in the fall of 1999 and finally moved in November
of 2000. Most of the work we did ourselves with the help of family. The
house is basically a basement with an A-frame roof, with a loft in it.
From the road you don't see much more than the tin roof. The small
balcony provides a nice sun deck off the loft.
The house faces toward the woods. Once you get to the front you find
it is much larger than it first appears.
This is our dream home and it has indeed turned out to be everything
that we dreamt it would be.
Its all about the porch here in the south....
Spring, summer and fall most of our time is spent on the porch, playing
games,
having a big fish fry with family or just relaxing with morning coffee.
